FriDIY: String Heart

Looking for an amazing reception piece?  Something to WoW  your guests with?  Something that can be turned into magnificent home decor after the wedding?  Well then look NO further!

Here’s what you’ve been looking for.  Check out this DIY String Heart from Green Wedding Shoes…..

DIY string heart art

Are you done ohhing and ahhing?

NO?

Keep ogling then.

……….

If you are finished, check out the material list needed to recreate this masterpiece.

Materials:

• piece of wood – the bigger the more dramatic!
• string –  used here was the pink neon thin rope you can find at Home Depot, but you could use any yarn or string
• box of nails (if want a nail with a decent head so the string won’t pop off)
• spray paint to paint the wood
• white paper to draw the heart on

Apparently you could make this for about $35.  Much less if you already have a piece of wood lying around!!

To see the tutorial click here.  It’s a MUST SEE!!!  And if you can’t think of anywhere to place a heart this large, a smaller one would be awesome too!  OR you could try writing your initials, OR table numbers, OR  a reception sign.

What would YOU make??

Sprinkle in some color

Sprinkles. Or are they Jimmies? Where I’m from you get chocolate  jimmies and rainbow sprinkles.  Although it’s a never-ending argument debate that often arises in the Baskin Robbins line.  For the sake of today’s post I’ma call e’m SPRINKLES! But whatever YOU call them, guess what… they are NOT just for ice cream anymore! :)

Sprinkles = FUN

Sprinkles =COLOR

Sprinkles = AWESOME for WEDDINGS

Don’t believe me?  Just look how playful and pretty they can be even off a cone…

FriDIY: Receipt Paper Streamers

I’m a sucker for streamers.  There is just something about their whimsiness that I adore!

They are a simple way to add drama and elegance to a room, outdoor space, or venue.  Not to mention there are about a thousand different ways you can “streamer”!

You could use ribbon, crepe paper, fabric,  or even receipt paper.  YEP, THAT’S RIGHT… RECEIPT PAPER!  I’m not sure why I didn’t think of it, but as soon as I ran into this DIY receipt paper streamer idea over at Hostess with the Mostess, it seemed so obvious.  Why wouldn’t you use receipt paper to decorate?  It’s just the right size, shape and length!

I am in LOVE with the look of these DIY streamers.  Don’t they resemble lace?  I think they would add a delicate charm to any wedding, shower or event.

Whatdya think? ….

DIY Tutorial: Pretty Receipt Paper Streamers

52 reasons I love you

I came across this adorable gift idea for your soon-to-be-hubby at Emmaline Bride - a deck of “52 things I love about you” cards. Such a thoughtful way to show your honey how much you appreciate him through all the wedding planning madness. Honestly, it’s so easy to get swept up in the tiny details of buying the perfect dress, serving the perfect meal, writing the perfect vows – all of it! – that we sometimes forget to just tell our loving groom how excited we are to be with him for the rest of our lives. And THAT is reason #1 that I love this gift idea.

Reason #2 that I love this super sweet idea? Because it goes perfectly with our brand new photo playing cards product, which you can customize with your very own image. Comon…he gets to read 52 great things about himself AND look at your beautiful smiling faces on every single one. What’s not to love?!

Playing Cards

Okay, okay – so you’re dying to know, “HOW do I make this amazing gift that my future spouse will love and cherish for the rest of our lives together!?” Well, first you must order your personalized deck of cards from our fabulous new store (be sure to check out some of our other awesome products while you’re there!). Then: follow the ever-creative Emmaline Bride’s detailed step-by-step instructions for making your deck-laration of love.
