I found this gorgeous cupid inspired shoot over at The Bride’s Cafe.  It was beautifully photographed by Angie Andrews of Sweet Memory Garden and perfectly stylized.  Be sure to check out the rest of the photos.  They are way to pretty to miss.

Fab photo Friday

February 3, 2012

TGIF gals! Today’s post is short and sweet, but worth well over a thousand words. How incredibly gorgeous is this image shot in Colorado by James Christianson? I die. If I could live in Colorado, and have a magical snowy wedding day (that wouldn’t prevent my guests’ arrival), I would be a very, very happy gal. Sign me up!

PS…kind of love that the biggest snowflake at the dead center of the top of the covered bridge is sorta heart-shaped!

J.Crew spring collection

February 2, 2012

J.Crew is 100% my number one fashion crush. I want one of everything in every season’s catalog in every color, thankyouverymuch. So it’s only natural that I peruse their wedding section every now and again because honestly, their dresses are to.die.for. Every single style is completely timeless and elegant, yet always fashionable. I can say with almost 100% positivity that if I purchased my bridal gown from J.Crew, it would still be glamorous when my daughter’s wedding rolls around. And I don’t even have a daughter at this point in my life.

Anyway, down to business. Let’s talk the J.Crew Spring 2012 collection, shall we?

Here are my faves – what do you think?

Finally, my favorite. It’s not part of the Spring 2012 lookbook, but shhh. Just look and behold:

Umbrella wedding decor

December 20, 2011

Wanna know something? I hope it rains on my wedding day. I can’t think of any other utilitarian accessory that is cuter than an umbrella, and I would be honored to have them accompany me in my wedding pictures. How cute are these photos?

Whadya think? Would umbrellas make you feel a little better about a rainy wedding day?

A chic classic: red lips

December 12, 2011

via This is Not New

Who doesn’t lust for a perfect red-hot pout? Both sexy and chic, red lips are the ideal accessory for your wedding day. When paired with clean whites (i.e. your wedding dress) and a simple, sleek hairstyle, you’re 100% guaranteed to be a showstopping bride.

I’ll admit, as a low-key makeup wearer who usually sticks with a more natural look, red lips were a tad bit scary. But after sporting the look a few times I realized that anyone can pull it off – it’s all about the confidence, ladies! Take some cues from these beauties – I’m tempted to run to Sephora, like, now to ogle their red lipstick selection.

Oh, and another word to the wise – if you’re gonna go red, go all the way. Don’t skimp on a cheap brand, as they tend to be thinner and more likely to rub off on your teeth. If you’re not sure about which shade of red works best for your skin tone, hit up the makeup counter at your favorite department store or ask a sales rep at Sephora. Their professional input will ensure that you look your best on your big day!

Sequins!

December 6, 2011

I like them. I love them. I want some more of them.

Who wouldn’t? Sequins are gorgeous, and they are oh-so-in right now. Their sparkly-ness is perfect for the holidays (I’m currently scouring stores for the perfect sequined New Year’s number), but they are really just right for every occasion. I’m obsessed, what can I say?

Plexi-glass pool covers

December 1, 2011

I know that it’s winter and outdoor  weddings are not exactly a viable option, but I couldn’t resist a little wishful thinking as the days get shorter and my thoughts retreat to a warm, sunny place…

SO, as you consider venue ideas for your summer wedding, look no further than your very own swimming pool!

Have you seen these amazing plexi-glass pool covers that rental companies offer? GORGE.

Of course, the plexi-glass also works for a winter wedding – cover up the pool, put a tent over it, and voila! – insta-party.

If you don’t like the clear plexi-glass look, most rental companies also offer solid pool covers:

Have any of you seen this done at a friend’s wedding, or thinking of doing it for your own big day?

SPILL!

Oh, and if any of you decide to try this, puhlease let us know. kthanks.

Carnival block party reception

November 1, 2011

Today I’m sharing with you one of THE cutest receptions/weddings I’ve ever laid eyes on. The couple decided to have their reception the day before their ceremony – it was an absolutely adorable carnival-themed block party held on the street where they first met! How cute is that?

Check out my favorite images from this thoughtful and love-filled event, photographed by the very talented Rebekah Westover. I love how casual and relaxed it is, and their cake is unreal!

Their beautiful, intimate ceremony was held the following day:

(I’m slightly obsessed with the vibe of this venue)

How adorable is this couple? Love what they chose for their big day! What do YOU think about the big party before the nuptials? Discuss.

Stunning desert bridals

October 25, 2011

Dear Rebekah Westover,

You can take my bridal portraits any day. Especially if a desert, perfect weather and incredible photographic talent are involved.

Sincerely,
