Nicely numbered

February 7, 2012

Table numbers… One reception detail you can put your personal touch on.  In fact, if you can, I recommend you do.

Your guests can either come in to the party and see they are sitting at table “4″ ooor they can enter and be amusingly met by table “1988″.  There are endless ways to number your tables.  Get creative. Do something that is meaningful to you and your sweetheart and let this detail be just one of many that sets your wedding apart from the others.

Here are a few table number ideas that I find just darling.  They are unique, memorable and sweet!

What do you think……

Such a sweet idea!  Not only simple, but a way for your guests to get to know you even better!  Loving this table number idea!!!

Reception, Table, Numbers

HAHaaa!  Come on, guests would LOVE this! Using the table number to include a photo of the bride and groom at that age.  Hilarious!!  I know I would float around the tables to make sure I saw them all!!

Here is something along the same line.  Although, rather than using ages this couple used years!  Still just as cute!

Kids at your wedding?

December 9, 2011

If you are having children at your wedding you may be looking for something to keep the kiddies busy.  Well look no further, here are some fabulous ideas perfect for a kid activity table.  THAT’S RIGHT… a kid’s activity table!  Super fun, right? I promise it’ll be a hit with the younger crowd! :]

Set up a table somewhere that won’t be center of attention.  This way if they little ones get a little “over excited” it won’t be right in the middle of your reception.

It’s up to you if you’d like to have the children eat together at the “kid table” or allow them to stay with their parents and just gather for activities after.  If you aren’t sure, think about the children coming.  Would they be more comfortable eating with mom and dad, or are they “too cool” and rather sit with their peers?

The kid’s would feel so special getting a goodie bag filled with treats and activities.  Try to keep them theme related and age appropriate.

AN IDEA I ADORE!!!

How cute is this??  I know I’d wanna play this wedding I Spy.  Oh, AND a disposable camera?!!! They’ll hardly be able to contain themselves!!

I’m loving this activity centerpiece.  Pretty and functional!  It’s also worth noting the butcher paper table covering.  GREAT idea for a kids wedding table!!!!

Here’s an adorable idea that is great if you are inviting many children to your wedding.  Have a Polaroid handy and snap each kid’s photo. Then,  let them place it on scrapbook paper, write you a little message and decorate.  Afterwards you can place all the sweet little photos in a scrapbook.  CUTE, right?

Soooo… are any of you having kids at your wedding?  What are your plans?  Have any awesome ideas to share with us?  We’d love to hear from you!  PLEASE spill!

3 Fun Guest Book Ideas

November 22, 2011

Sure you can have a traditional guest book, but “YAWN”… [oh, sorry that just slipped out]  … why would you want to? Do you like being cookie cutter?  Okay, maybe you do.  BUT THIS IS YOUR WEDDING!   Don’t you want everything about your big day to be interesting, exciting and memorable?  YES, even your guest book can be awesome!

I know you want AWESOME… so here are a few fun guest book ideas I’m going to throw ‘atcha.   Remember, these are only 3 options in a sea full of possibilities.

:)

Jenga… Jenga… Jenga

Think about how fun this will be in years to come.  Everytime you play your sentimental Jenga game you can enjoy all the sweet things your family and friends wrote to you on your wedding day.  Come on, doesn’t this beat an ordinary sign in “book”?  via Oh Lovely Day

Puzzle Pieces

As a huge puzzle lover, I obviously adore this idea!  It’s so fun and something you could frame and hang in your home.  You could paint the pieces in your wedding colors beforehand or use bright sharpies for a more vibrant look.  via Jesi Haack Design

Postcards

Uhm… HELLO super cute idea…

At the reception have stamped self addressed postcards.  Have each guest write one out to you and assign a friend to mail them out the next day.  When you return from your honeymoon you will have a mailbox full of  messages to enjoy!  Once you read them you could store them in a scrap-book, or make a collage… or any other creative idea you can think of.  Super sweet, right?  I love the idea of having a mailbox at the reception for the guests to place them in too! Cute! Cute!

!!! PINTEREST !!!

September 22, 2011

The question is…….

DO YOU PINTEREST??

The answer…………

SHOULD be YES!!!!

Pinterest is my most recent addiction.  I am a Pinaholic!  And, NO I’m not ashamed!  I am a PROUD pin addict!  I could pin all day and night… In fact, I sometimes do!

So…What is Pinterest Logo?

Pinterest is a Virtual Pinboard.

Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.

Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.

To get started, request an invite.  Then come find Libby James’ Pinterest page and follow me.  I’d love to be your Pin Pal!   I have tons of wedding inspiration just waiting for you to browse and am adding more and more daily.  I PROMISE YOU’LL LOVE IT!!

Here is a little looksie at my Pinterest Page:

See…. Gowns, Flowers, Cake… everything your wedding needs!  Planning has NEVER been easier (or more fun)!  So GO… get yourself a Pinterest page.  I’ll see ya there!! :)

Save the Dates… Not just for weddings anymore!!

September 5, 2011

Ya know, Save the Dates aren’t just for brides anymore.  Anyone can send out Save the Dates for any occasion, really.  Weddings aren’t the only important events out there!  Save the Dates are sent to make guests aware of an upcoming celebration so they can mark their calendars.  Aren’t there other parties out there you want your guests to attend other than weddings?? OF COURSE there are!!

So consider sending out Save the Dates for your next bar mitzvah, birthday, or bachelorette party.  With our Design Your Own Template, you could send something like this:

Quinceanera Save the Date

or

Bridal Shower Save the Date

You don’t even have to use them as a Save the Date.  For the bridal shower one above, you could send as the actual invitation.  Include the necessary details, wrap them in some nice packaging and mail them as the invite.  I think they’d make perfect invitations!!

And, why stop there?  Who says you need to use them for a party at all?  Why not send them as an announcement…

New address announcement

Or, the Holidays are coming.  Our Design Your Own Template would be perfect for creating your own Christmas cards…

Our Design Your Own Template is set up as a magnet.  However, if you’d rather send a two-sided card you can visit Libby James’ Etsy Shop.  There, you can create a two-sided press card rather than a magnet. Our Design Your Own Press Cards come in 2 sizes… 3.5×5 and 4×5 AND you can either design both sides of your card OR design a post card.  Awesome, right??

To check out our Design Your Own 3.5×5 Press Card CLICK HERE.  To see our Design Your Own 4×5 Press Card CLICK HERE.

** And remember if you order now, you can take advantage of our current promotion.  24 FREE Save the Dates when you order 48.  So go ahead, try our Design Your Own Template.  Create something awesome.  The designing is free, you only have to pay if you order!

Breakfast Before the Wedding??

August 22, 2011

I can’t gush more about the inspiration I saw at Green Wedding Shoes.  Their post, Inspiration: Breakfast with Your Honey Before the Wedding is brilliantI have never heard of  couple meeting before their wedding to enjoy a romantic breakfast together, but I think it’s one of the cutest ideas EVER!  How sweet to cuddle up with your future spouse moments before tying the knot.  Enjoying each others company, forgetting everything else, getting lost in the moment… it’s dreamy isn’t it??!

With wedding day agendas, appointments, and set up, the whole morning can be filled with chaos.  Why not let someone… anyone, else worry about the preparations and relax with your honey.  You only get one wedding morning.  Don’t let it slip away. Cherish it and make the most of it.

You have to have breakfast anyway… why not enjoy it with the one you love?

Circular Ceremonies

August 19, 2011

I’m lovin’ circular ceremony set ups these days.  Also known as “wedding in the round” and “360 degree seating”, this is an arrangement that I just adore.  Not only is it unexpected, but you are literally surrounded by your family and friends.

This seating style works for not only intimate ceremonies, but larger weddings too.  Everyone is closely tucked together and has a great view of the couple.  Not only that, but look how fabulous a circular wedding ceremony looks in photographs.  Ahhh mazing, right??

Spoonflower

June 22, 2011

Has anyone heard of Spoonflower? This awesomely innovative new site lets you design and print your own fabric. How cool is that? I have so many ideas brewing in my head right now, it’s not even fair. I’m thinking pillows and cushions and fun bunting galore.

Spoonflower opens up a world of opportunity for you DIY brides out there; your dream fabric is literally at your fingertips because you don’t need to wait for someone else to design it first – it’s all you, baby. Even if  you’re not interested in creating your own fabric designs, you need to check out some of the other creations on their site. Here are a few of my faves:

Another great thing about Spoonflower is that they’re super green. Your designs are printed using digital textile printers with eco-friendly, water-based pigment inks on natural fiber textiles. Also, unlike conventional textile manufacturing, digital printing entails very little waste of fabric, ink, water or electricity.  No additional chemicals are used in the printing or preparation process. To read more about Spoonflower’s digital printing process, visit their About Us page, and make sure to check out their blog for contests and other fun updates!

So, spill the beans. Have you used Spoonflower, or know someone who has?
If so, got any fabric-designing tips for the rest of us newbies out here?

The Ocean House – RI

June 2, 2011

This past weekend I did a little New England beaching, and some friends and I spent our Sunday in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. SUCH a gorgeous place! We ate lunch at the Olympia Tea Room and enjoyed the sun & sea breeze as we sipped on bloody marys and mimosas. After lunch we got ice cream from St. Clair Annex, which has THE most amazing homemade ice cream (I got the Almond Joy…yum).

The best part of our afternoon I must say, though, was seeing The Ocean House in all its yellow seaside splendor. Just look at this amazing venue:
