I keep coming across this on Pinterest so I thought it must be a sign. A sign that obviously says “Libby, post this on your blog… OR ELSE’!

I know, a little threatening, right?! Well, I’d hate to be faced with that dreaded ”or else“, so I’m going to listen to the blogging Gods and post it up today!

It’s an adorable artichoke idea that was originally posted on Ruffled. I am in love with it and thinks it’s an idea all my eco-friendly, rustic chic, penny-pinching brides should consider! Hanging artichokes!

Can-tastic Ideas

One of my girlfriends is getting married in May and asked if I’d start saving my tin cans. She wants them to tie onto the back of her “getaway car”. OKAY, not really. She doesn’t have a getaway car but she does have a BUS! That’s right, a big yellow cheese bus. It will transport us to and from the wedding and hotels and she wants cans on it. LOTS and LOTS of cans.

So, needless to say… I’ve been busy rinsing and de-labeling cans for the past few months. Well, now I have quite the collection. In fact, I think I have hoarded enough cans to attach to an entire fleet of busses. Which got me thinking… what else could we use the cans for?

As it turns out there are about a thousand and ten ways tin cans could be used at weddings! And if you really think about it…. they’re ecofriendly AND cost efficient, which makes tin cans a perfect decor idea! Just look at what they could be turned into…..

INVITATIONS!! That’s right, you heard me, invitations!!!! How cool would it be to mail these babies out? The cans above were mailed out with invitation inside, along with directions on how to tie them to the couple’s car at the wedding. If you’re not really into the cold metal look, you could dress the can up however you’d like. Use the photos below for inspiration.

And these don’t just work for weddings. They could be awesome shower, birthday, or bachelorette invites. OHHHHH or you could fill them with goodies and hand them out as favors. Tin can table numbers. AWESOME. I like how the inside is colored so the numbers really pop. You can click here for the tutorial.

Another table number idea. Use the tin can as a base and stick the number inside. You could recreate this in so many ways!

Tin can vases. DUH so simple! I love the vintage-y look of them. You could wrap them with burlap, lace, ribbon, yarn… just about anything, depending on the look you are going for.

Notice the tin can centerpieces have been sprayed. It’s an easy way to give them a face lift. And I’m loving the silverware holders. Again… SOOOOOO simple!

This is one of my faves. Very vintage! Pretty up your tin cans with wallpaper, fabric, wrapping paper or scrapbook paper.

If you can find vintage cans, they look absolutely charming as-is!

Hey you! Happy Wednesday! Thanks for stoppin’ by!

Now I don’t know about you, but I’m am soooo over this cold weather. Spring just can’t come quick enough. I miss the pretty flowers and the buzzing of bees. I yearn for warm breezes and the sweet scents of honey suckle. Springtime…. I miss it. I miss it. I miss it!

So, to get me outta my funk I thought I’d share with you one our Springiest Save the Dates. Let me introcuce you to Butterfly….

Lately, I’ve been running into heart-shaped food recipes. They seem to be ev-ah-ree where!! And I was thinking it was a bit odd but then it dawned on me… DUH, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. The bulk of ideas totally makes sense now!

Because I’ve been seeing so many lovey dovey treats I thought I’d share some of my faves with you today. I think they are adorable for Valentine’s Day but also adore these ideas for a wedding. If you are catering a wedding (or bridal shower) these heart-shaped foods are super sweet and would look adorable amongst the spread.

Weddings are account draining and pocket emptying. There are sooo many expenses. So, unless you own your own enterprise or marring a rock star, you are probably trying to save where you can. Why not save on a wedding gift for your sweetheart?

I know you want to spoil them. Give them that fabulous Rolex they’ve been eying or surprise them with the cruise they’ve been dying to take. While those gifts are fabulous, they may not be feasible at the moment. So why not treat them with a gift that can be just as special. Sure it barely costs a thing, but the sentiment is priceless.

This was originally made as reception decor but I think it’s a darling gift idea……

The caption read:

For an ultra-personal touch to their wedding decor, Josh wrote down 20 things he loves about Laura. Laura then typed up the sentences and made a “she” graphic underlay. The completed work was framed and placed on the sign-in table at the reception.

Seriously…. isn’t this absolutely adorable? It’s sweet, special and a darling wedding gift idea, dontcha think?? You could display it at the reception to show off the reasons you love your mate and then hang it in your home to admire for eternity.

Wedding Time Capsule

Have you heard of this idea before? Having a wedding time capsule?

I KNOW…. AWESOME IDEA, right??

I have always adored the idea of a time capsule. Preserving memories, photos, and momentos to be enjoyed at a later date. A wonderful way to cherish special keepsakes. So, why not have one at a wedding?

You could have a time capsule station where guests write you a letter, share a memory, make predictions, etc. at your reception. Or in your invitation you could mention your idea and ask your family and friends to bring a tiny momento to include. After the wedding you could seal up the capsule and open it in a year, 5 years, 10, at a vow renewal…. whenever you’d like to enjoy it.

Here’s a wedding I saw over at Elizabeth Anne Designs where the couple had guests contribute to a time capsule. SOOOooooo SWEET!!!!

Seriously, who wouldn’t want to do this?? Such a darling idea and fun for your guests!!
