August 15, 2011

Hello!  My name is Libby and I’m a shoe-aholic!

…. So imagine my delight when the Rock n Roll Bride  introduced me to Upper Street last week.  Okay, she didn’t directly call ME or throw me an email, but rather posted about Upper Street for all of the blog lovin’ world to see… BUT I felt like she was talking to ME and only ME!  It’s like she knew good ole’ Libby was shoe obsessed and NEEDED to know about Upper Street.  Kat, you may have created a monster!! :) Thank you!!

Upper Street is an ahhh-mazing site that allows all of us shoe addicts to actually play designer.  YES, we can create our very own, one of a kind, hot hott hottt, my foot is dying to wear that, kinda’ shoe!  It’s so easy and even more fun that shoe shopping!! I know, right… I didn’t think it was possible either.  You can design  footwear for your wedding, bachelorette party, honeymoon, birthday or any other occasion your little heart desires.

You now have shoe envy, right??

I just spent, what feels like hours over at my new favorite site and I designed 5 pairs of shoes.  I LOVE them and want them ALL but realistically I can only purchase one pair now.  So which should it be??  I can’t possibly decide, so will you PAH LEES help me?!?  Which heels are the hottest??

Cute as a button

March 23, 2011

Whenever I’m at a flea market or yard sale I find myself constantly drawn to the jars of buttons.  I think it’s the DIY slavedriver inside me that urges me to pick them up. Once they’re in my hands I just can’t put them down.  I spy about 10 in the lot that I must have.  Because I can’t leave my 10 buttons behind, I have to take the 190 others that are mingling with them.

I assume I am not the only buttonholic in the world, so today’s post is for you,  fellow button lovers.  I gathered some button inspiration for anyone looking for a cute decor idea for weddings, showers, or partys.

Alternative Wedding Bouquet - Button Bouquet

I am a sucker for untraditional wedding bouquets, something most of you already know.  This button bouquet is no exception.  How adorabley different.  via SD Wedding Insider.  If you would like to try making your own, check out M&J Trimming for a button bouquet tutorial.

If you have a button bouquet you need a button boutonniere to match, right?  Visit My DIY Wedding Day to see how to make each of these adorable bouts.

This button garland I found at  Two Brunettes is cute and quirky.

I am really diggin’ this table runner.  Seems super easy to recreate and adds some unexpected charecter.  I also like the buttons simply sitting on the table, a great confetti alternative.  via Coordinately Yours

A cute button invitation.  This is obviously for a wedding, but could be made for any party.  You could use a heart shape or make your own button design. via Nikkabelle

If you plan to have a button wedding a cake similar to this is a must have.  via WedLoft

Button cupcake toppers… how fun!!  via CraftyStylish

I think this button table number is super cute.  You could recreate this in so many ways.  via The Knot

Want something fun to greet your family and friends with?  How about button place cards.  They’d be cheap and easy to make. via Project Wedding

I love the button detail on these napkins, rings, and table runner.  Who wouldn’t want to sit down to this? via All You

The button fringe on this tablecloth is lovely isn’t it?  via Polly at Home

Button wine charms are an adorabe way to dress up your glass.  These would make fabulous party favors.  I found these on Etsy but if you’re crafty enough, you could make your own.

Another favor idea, a button heart.  These would be super cute for a wedding or shower.  via Rubbish Revamped

These button flowers would make a creative and colorful centerpiece for a spring or summer wedding.  If you want to try these definitely use the salt shaker vase, super cute!   via The Budget Savvy Bride

For a button themed wedding, this bracelet would be perfect.  This would make a great bridesmaids gift or party favor.  They don’t look too difficult to make either.  If you’re not a crafty girl you could purchase a button bracelet here: This Next.

This button heart pillow would be a great addition to an outdoor reception.  There is a tutorial at Katie’s Nesting Spot.  You could make a heart, write your name or your initials.  You could line four up and spell LOVE.  No matter what you did, a  buttonized pillow would be a cute touch at any event.

This is similar to the pillow above because you could write or customize what you’d like.   via Ginger Tea

U + Me = CUTENESS!   via Sweet Lydia’s Blog

This button wreath isn’t a Martha design but it reminds me of something fabulous that she would have hanging on her door. via Inspire Bohemia

Tea light holders are easily affordable.  Buy a bunch, add some buttons, and voila… a creative candle holder.  I love how it looks illuminated.  via i Hanna’s Blog

Great Holiday DIY Projects

December 22, 2009

Sorry for the lack of posting, I’ve been crafting.  Here are some of my favorite DIY projects.

Not going to lie, it takes a long time to cut out all the felt circles you need for this wreath, however assembly is so easy and the results are fabulous!   These are great for the holidays but also an inexpensive way to decorate any venue.

Check out the tutorial on Donestifluff

I love a good wreath but these were a nice change.  I think this arrangement would also look great on church doors using your wedding color for the ribbon.

Found over at I Do It Yourself

I LOVE giving pictures as gifts, found a tutorial on how to add a vintage feel.

Found over at A Modern Wedding Blog

Want your house to smell AMAZING?  My nose had a great time making this super easy potpourri.

Found over at Hip Hostess

What a great cake!  I made this for a holiday party and it was a total hit.  I used green and red ribbon around the base and found holly candies to add.

For the avid camper…

September 17, 2009

Do you love to camp? Have you ever thought about mixing your wedding with a campout? Before seeing this wedding I would have made that “Whatcha you talking about Willis” face but now I have a whole new outlook.

I have a girlfriend who has been dreaming of a campout wedding and now I hope she goes through with it so I can help her plan it!
