Loving Lovebirds

March 13, 2012

This past weekend I spent a little time soaking up some much-needed Vitamin D (can you say READY for spring?!). The sun was shining, the birds were chirping…which got me thinking, What better way to incorporate the outdoors into your wedding than with a couple of romantic-yet-lighthearted lovebirds? These little guys/gals are a fun touch for the nature-loving bride. Even for someone like me who doesn’t LOVE real-life birds (okay, so maybe I’ve had a few too many close encounters with dive-bombing seagulls), you can’t deny that lovebirds make some pretty adorable save the dates, invitations, RSVP cards and thank yous:

Etsy is loaded with super cute lovebird-themed invitation suites, in pretty much any color/style you could ever want…

Creative coolers

January 30, 2012

Are you having an outdoor wedding?  Maybe a throwing an outdoor shower or party?  Well if you are, you’re in the right place because today’s post is for you.

I have a few cooler ideas for my outdoor party planners.  Now, I’m not talking about large camping coolers on wheels.  While Colemans and Killer Chillers ARE awesome they aren’t very unique.  If you can, save them for your next backyard barbeque.

For your wedding or shower try something different. Something interesting.  Something cool! (Was that pun too predictable? Sorry, I couldn’t help myself!)

Here are some fantastic ways to keep drinks chilled.  They’re creative and charming. But don’t take my word for it. See for yourself…

This picnic table cooler is so clever.  The middle plank has been replaced with a gutter and filled with ice and beverages. This would be a great centerpiece for a drink station.   You love it right?

Throw your drinks & ice into a wheelbarrow and viola… instant cooler!  Rustic and charming!!  Not to mention they’d be uber easy to transport!!

Want a conversation piece, how about a bathtub cooler.  It’s large enough to hold plenty of drinks and looks just darling!! Don’tcha think?

What other ways could you house your beverages?

DIY Wedding Altars

August 23, 2011

I am in LOVE with homemade wedding altars.  I mean serious LOVE.  Capitol El Oh Vee Eee!

They add drama, charm and personality to a wedding ceremony.  My favorites are altars creatively constructed for outside ceremonies and I just can’t get enough.  Every time I come across one, it stops me in my tracks.  Here are some that I am completely o.b.s.e.s.s.e.d with…..

I wish I had a picture of this finished project.  The bride planned to hang the windows and add a rustic blue antique dresser.  I bet it was amazing!  via Weddingbee

This has been posted on Libby before but its soooo worth posting again!!  Lovely little outdoor chapel!

This is very similar to the DIY altar pictured above.  So vintage and charming.  via Owl in Flight

This is a simpler version of a DIY altar, but still just as lovely.  via Love & Lavender

This couple didn’t stop with the altar…. the groom’s father built them an entire chapel.  With the gorgeous backdrop, this ceremony set up is breathtaking.  Seriously stunning!!  via Weddingbee

Tuesday’s Trio

February 22, 2011

Today, let’s take a time out to ooh and aah at some weddings.  I have three I’d like to share with you today.  Are you ready to be WOWed?  Here we goooo…..

#1

This lovely wedding took place in San Antonio and was photographed by Chelsea Nicole.  I came across it a few days ago and knew I wanted to share it with you.  There are so many charming details you just HAVE to see!!

My favorite detail…  her STUNNING bouquet.  Made of everything but the kitchen sink… although that may be in there too :)   The bouquet is an arrangement of pins, buttons, brooches, earings, and YES even a spoon.   It is one of the loveliest things I have ever seen and even more so because each piece was chosen specifically for one sentimental reason or another.

A flower girl in a tutu??  I believe every bride should have one!

A bouquet of feathers and an oversized flower… Ahh-mazing!

This wedding is an elegant outdoor tented event and was shot by the very talented Geoff White.  Every detail is dynamic and absolutely gorgeous.  I am loving the deep reds accompanied by the black and white pattern.  Simply stunning!

I fell in love with this intimate lakeside wedding as soon as I saw it on Wedding Wire.  It is one of the most charming weddings I have ever seen.

Is this not one of the cutest couples?  Adorable duo!

I love the row boat, the flowers in the hair and ADORE the lamp centerpieces.

The ribbons hanging from the tree set a carefree and whimsical mood.

This wedding is so enchanting… I’m happy I had the opportunity to see it and share all of it’s charm with you.
