A chic classic: red lips

via This is Not New

Who doesn’t lust for a perfect red-hot pout? Both sexy and chic, red lips are the ideal accessory for your wedding day. When paired with clean whites (i.e. your wedding dress) and a simple, sleek hairstyle, you’re 100% guaranteed to be a showstopping bride.

I’ll admit, as a low-key makeup wearer who usually sticks with a more natural look, red lips were a tad bit scary. But after sporting the look a few times I realized that anyone can pull it off – it’s all about the confidence, ladies! Take some cues from these beauties – I’m tempted to run to Sephora, like, now to ogle their red lipstick selection.

Oh, and another word to the wise – if you’re gonna go red, go all the way. Don’t skimp on a cheap brand, as they tend to be thinner and more likely to rub off on your teeth. If you’re not sure about which shade of red works best for your skin tone, hit up the makeup counter at your favorite department store or ask a sales rep at Sephora. Their professional input will ensure that you look your best on your big day!

DIY milk glass centerpieces

Whoa. What? How have I just discovered Emmaline Bride right now? I will be spending many, many hours perusing the DIY gems this gal’s got goin’ on. Like DIY milk glass centerpieces…YES. I think by now you all know that I love all things vintage, and when I can create something “vintage” for a very good price…well, I’m just a very happy camper. So please, enjoy this DIY and pass on the savings.

If you can find clear glass vases with pretty little intricate details, your job is easy – all you need is some white spray paint and gloss. But if you can’t find pre-detailed vases, don’t worry! Follow this tutorial from P.S. I Made This (also found at Emmaline Bride) and your smooth glass vases will look ages older almost instantly:

Spring spread

Spring is springing and I am beyond ecstatic. Aside from summers at the beach (preferably Cape Cod or somewhere along the New England coast…), spring is my absolute favorite season. And seeing as bright, cheerful colors are in this spring, I thought that this gorgeous spread that I discovered over at Lane Dittoe featuring Erica O’Brien Cake Design was the perfect way to get everyone in the mood!

I love the brightly colored vases – adorable!

Ahh, bold but subtle floral beauties. Love ‘em. Oh and um, can I please have a glass of champagne with skewered raspberries too? Thanks.

Look at those gorgeous cakes! The definition of simple beauty. (Not to mention they look delicious…)

Something about these photos makes me think of vintage-y goodness.

This whole spread makes spring seem almost within reach – even if Mother Nature is dangling it in front of us like a carrot!

DIY Pinwheel cupcake toppers

Oh hey, cuteness.

Don’t you just love these paper pinwheels? Perfect for garnishing anything and everything at your reception – including your cupcakes! I love that these pinwheels can be customized not only in paper patterns and colors, but in size too!

They offer the perfect budget-friendly vintage vibe, with their oversized button centers and adorable twine hanging “hardware.” I’m particularly obsessed with the idea of creating these pinwheels as cupcake toppers…visit The Bride’s Cafe for a full DIY tutorial from Kelly Portnoy of Kellan Studios!

I love the color scheme that Kelly used in these photos…I’m such a sucker for the red/orange and teal color palette!

So freaking cute. Not to mention that those cupcakes are making me drool…

Stop and stare

Ok, can we pause for a second to drool over the incredibly beautiful photos that Kristine Noel has got goin’ on over at her Etsy shop?

I’m stunned by the simple beauty of these shots, particularly the peonies & beach glass:

Peony Study No. 7

Peonies are hands down my favorite flower, which is probably why I can’t get enough of these amazing shots.

Picture this in a gorgeous black frame – ohh my.

Simple Fruit Collection 4 - 5x5 prints

This collection is so sweet…considering my deep obsession for blackberries & blueberries, I might have to buy it.

I love the gorgeous vintage vibe I’m getting from these prints – stunning!

I will end with this photo because it gives me hope for weather soon to come…! :)
