Fab photo Friday

TGIF gals! Today’s post is short and sweet, but worth well over a thousand words. How incredibly gorgeous is this image shot in Colorado by James Christianson? I die. If I could live in Colorado, and have a magical snowy wedding day (that wouldn’t prevent my guests’ arrival), I would be a very, very happy gal. Sign me up!

PS…kind of love that the biggest snowflake at the dead center of the top of the covered bridge is sorta heart-shaped!

Teeny Tiny Trees

Over at Family Chic by Camilla Fabbri, I came across these adorable mini trees and was instantly swept away by their itty bitty sweetness.  Obviously Camilla is a GENIOUS!  When you see her tiny trees, you’re like, “DUH… why didn’t I think of that?”  They are super duper easy to recreate and seasonably perfect.

Let’s face it, everywhere you go these days you are smacked in the face with holiday decor.  I know some of you want to avoid the chaos and cut down the pillow aisle, but rather than running away from the mobs and gobs of decorations… run TOWARDS them.  Run, grab some artificial garland and go!  With just one strand of garland and the slightest amount of DIY you could have the cutest mini trees ever.

They’d be great for winter wedding favors, place settings, decor, seating cards, cake toppers… I could go on and on.  But I won’t.  Your awesome enough, I know you’ll come up with some fabulous way to display these little guys.

Pinecone lovin’

I’ve been loving natural elements lately. How adorable would a pinecone-themed wedding be? From your save-the-dates to your invites, programs and centerpieces, pinecones are a rustic, chic and incredibly budget-friendly way to adorn your wedding.

My fave part about these prickly pieces is that they can be altered to suit weddings from any season. I’m particular to winter and fall pinecone-themed weddings, but with the right color schemes, these little pods can definitely work for spring and summer! Which season would you choose?

I never thought I would say this, but maybe winter can hang on for just a littleeee bit longer so that we can play around with these gorgeous ice luminaries?

I love the look of branches for a winter wedding.  Here, crystals were hung.  I think they resemble icicles whch make them perfect for a winter event.

Winterize your wedding – Part II

If you missed Part I of Winterize your wedding, be sure to check it out.  It is full of winter wedding attire ideas.  Right now, it’s time for our second edition. I hope you enjoy! …..

Part II

Winter Wedding Ideas

This is just gorgeous isn’t it?  I love the effect the blue light has in the room.  Gives a cool and icy feel.  A purple tint also looks winter-y, but I prefer the blue!  Fairly easy way to enhance your wedding venue.

Found on Brenda’s Wedding Blog

A very popular DIY project winter brides take on is ice kissed branches .  Look how dramatic this aisle looks lined with them.  It’s a statement detail that is very easy to achieve.  I found this over at Weddingbee and thought it was way too fab not to share with you.  Check out their site for their simple 3-step tutorial.

How cute are these girls? Rather than bouquets why not let your bridesmaids wear muffs down the aisle.  A very untraditional idea, which I love!

Found on Wedding Wire

This is an adorable ring pillow that can only be pulled of in the winter.  It also has a matching flower girl basket….

Found at Wedding Ideas

I searched and searched but I couldn’t find a better picture of my next idea….. Aisle snow.  Something different for your flower girl (snow fairy) to throw.  It’s a little trickier to clean up, but definitely a creative touch.  You can find the snow at almost any craft store or order some online. Party Package would be a good site to use.

Found at The Knot

And while you have snow, why not have your guests throw that after the ceremony rather than the traditional rice or bubbles.  You could get creative in the packaging and add a little saying….

The wedding is over

 To the reception we go

 On our way out

Please throw some snow

A wreath is seasonal and one of the easiest ways to dress up church doors.

Not getting married in a church?  Have you considered braving the cold and marrying outside? I love this idea, especially if you live in a snowy area. Have your guests bundle up and take advantage of a stunning snowy backdrop.  If you are worried about your guests, you could provide more warmth with blankets that coordinate with your wedding colors.

Found at Eleven Senses

I found this cute blanket display at Weddingbee.

How FUN is this.  A skating wedding. AYKM!!!!

found at Bellies and Babys

For a dramatic departure rent a gorgeous sleigh to take you and your groom away.  Of course snow is a necessity, but if you have it, this is a getaway you, family and friends will remember for a lifetime!

Winter Wedding fur

This is for all you gals planning on snowy nuptials – no winter wedding gown is complete without a gorgeous white fur capelet! Here are a few beauties that I found, most of which are animal- (and budget-) friendly.

Found at Tulip Bridal.

off-white mink fur shawl
I love the slight off-the-shoulder look of this piece – so elegant!
WHITE WEDDING FUR WRAP and MUFF
This option is perfect for the fur-shy bride – just enough fuzz to create a buzz! Both shawls by Etsy seller Vladana.
Faux Fur Wedding Bridal Shawl Wrap WP15
Perfectly elegant, love the center cinched with pearls. Found at Blue Catalog.
Vintage fur is a great option, and I love the off-white and tan tones of this capelet. Found at Posh Girl Vintage.

Also from Posh Girl Vintage, and a gorgeous alternative to a capelet – looks super cozy!
